Akrep Tezgâhı is a collaborative installation by visual artist Berfin Alyeşil and musician/sound artist Günseli Naz Ferel, presented at Şahika Art Space in Taksim, Istanbul. Conceived on the eve of the Scorpio Moon Eclipse, 5.5.5, an alignment charged with transformative symbolism, the work channels the intensity of this moment into a collective artistic experiment.
At its center are seven enigmatic boxes, each offering a distinct encounter: some reveal hidden messages, others emit sounds or distort confessions, while one reflects a watery image of unspoken desires. Visitors are invited to engage with these objects, stepping beyond conventional modes of exhibition into an unfolding of mystery, chance, and participation.
Emerging against the backdrop of Türkiye’s charged political atmosphere before the presidential elections, Akrep Tezgâhı occupies the fragile threshold between hope and despair, artist and spectator, truth and illusion. It reflects on how creation under uncertainty can generate both vulnerability and connection.
The installation is a testament to the transformative potential of collaboration and shared experience, an invitation to surrender to what lies hidden, to approach the unknown, and to find meaning in the spaces between revelation and concealment, staying true to the guidance the duo receives via their moons in scorpio.
